Oisín’s infectious enthusiasm for the native drinks industry is well known to many in this city. He’s frequently rocked up to gatherings with his legendary punch bowls and now he may well come armed with his new book Irish Kitchen Cocktails. The tagline is, ‘60 Drinks you can make at home with everyday equipment.’ Each cocktail comes with a little personal anecdote such as Vive Cum Gaudio – Latin for ‘Live With Joy’ – being tattooed on his left forearm (Hot Whiskey with Pear & Chestnut) with the flavour combo emerging from having a cannoli in Jersey City. There’s discoveries such Berrisimo & OJ (an Irish Berry apertif), Vodka Jelly shots made from Refreshers candy and a Killahora Medley which combines the best from these Orchards in Cork. It should be noted how gorgeous this book looks too so kudos to editor Kristin Jensen (Nine Bean Rows), design (Graham Thew), styling (Orla Nelligan) and photography (Jo Murphy). Did someone say Christmas stocking filler box ticked in October?
No booking required, the book can be purchased for €18.
