Hen’s Teeth recently announced news of its repurposing as an events-led venue with its own food, music and art programme. Their offerings so far have been more than impressive, and this month sees the popular Dublin 8 spot host Beár Bia (the Irish for Food Bar), an exciting new dinner series devised by Great Irish Beverages and Dee Laffan.

The event forms part of a collaboration with Irish Food and Drink Month, celebrating the best of Irish food and drinks county by county, and the first edition celebrates the produce of county Wicklow with a tailor-made menu showcasing produce from some of the finest food and beverage producers to be found in the ‘Garden of Ireland’.

The special October menu has been developed by Wicklow native Dylan Mullen, Head Chef at Hen’s Teeth, who has put together a tasteful selection of courses featuring such Wicklow delights as Grangecon Kitchen Sourdough with a Ballyhubbock Ricotta and Olly’s Honey Dip, and Kilruddery House Leaves and Grilled Courgettes in a Wicklow Rapeseed Oil Dressing.

The menu also features Hollywood Farmhouse Goats Cheese and Dunnes Black Pudding and Pear, alongside Ridgeway Wagyu BBQ Brisket with Mic’s Chili, rounded off in style with Coconut & Moo Moo Basque Cheesecake served with Conroy’s Raspberry Compote.

Each of these beauties will be paired on the evening with a nice selection of drinks from such well-regarded Wicklow brewers and distillers as Fercullen Irish Whiskey, Rí Rá Beer, Larkin’s Brewing Company and istil 38 Premium Irish Vodka.

Tickets for Beár Bia cost €65 each (plus booking fee) and include drink pairings. The pop up takes place on October 19th & 20th.
