Photographer Mayan Toledano shares stories of the queer creative community in Mexico City, blending reportage, portraiture, and fashion work in the monograph No Mames. Exploring the lives of her young subjects with empathy and respect, Toledano creates colourful, dreamlike images filled with honesty, fantasy and sexuality.
Toledano has found herself increasingly drawn to Mexico City, a place she considers a creative haven. No Mames pays tribute to the local LGBTQ artists, designers, and creatives who are currently contributing to Mexican culture—many of whom are couples, roommates, or childhood friends.
