Ben Thompson has achieved a lot at a young age. Not only does he co-run one of the most consistently adventurous and exciting labels in the world right now, he is also widely regarded as one of the finest DJs of his generation. And he looks about 12.
He is one of the few DJs around to have made a name for himself purely from DJing; he has never released any music of his own. Of course, he’s released the music of lots of others through his Hessle imprint, founded in 2007 alongside David “Pearson Sound” Kennedy and Pangea. It’s quite simply one of the most important labels in the world today, always pointing towards new avenues of exploration in the world after dubstep.
