While restaurants often take their names from the streets they inhabit, we never thought we’d see the day that the N11 would prove nominatively inspiring to culinary creatives, and yet here we are…

Billed as a neighbourhood dining destination, John Farrell’s new suburban venture Eleven opened on the first floor above Whelehan’s Wines in Loughlinstown last month, with Chef Atish Bhuruth formerly of The Butcher Grill at the helm in the kitchen. The ethos behind the pass is based on one simple philosophy – to dish up the best and freshest ingredients, simply prepared and served.

It is clear that the approachable menu has been designed to cater for most preferences, with an extensive selection of Small Plates, Mains and Grilled Dishes available. The substantial sharing plates offer plenty of choice, from Dover Sole with Sea Buckthorn, Olives and Tomato, to Côte de Boeuf, and Chateaubriand. These come served with a choice of two sides, such as House Fries, Smokey Beans and Charred Hispi Cabbage with Bacon and Kombu.

Sunday diners at Eleven can enjoy a traditional Roast with trimmings including Duck Fat Roasties, Gravy, Stuffing, and Yorkshire Pudding. A cracking cocktail list, and an incredible range of wines, makes it a spot well worth getting off the road for.
