Mike Bunn turned 80 this year so it’s as good a time as ever to have a retrospective of his photography career. 130 photographs from his portfolio are on display as one delves into his work spanning fashion, portraiture and nature as documented in our In The Frame section last month.
Bunn told Deirdre McQuillan in the Irish Times how, “I was a good looking teddy boy from London in a double breasted knee length coat made by a tailor, black silk scarf, pinstripe trousers and velvet boots,” when he was hanging around Dublin in the ‘80s. “I used to go to the Bailey with a green flower in my lapel and drink Crème de Menthe Frappé , You couldn’t miss me.”
Mike Bunn: The Man Who Sees Through Shadows runs at Farmleigh Gallery until March 19. 10am – 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
