Bram Stoker Festival have announced the Irish premiere of BOREALIS, an artwork by Swiss artist Dan Acher, which will create a mesmerising illusion of the Northern Lights, aka the Aurora Borealis, in the Upper Courtyard of Dublin Castle this October Bank Holiday Weekend. This FREE event will run each night of the festival from 6.30pm until 10.30pm.
An initiative of Dublin City Council, Bram Stoker Festival returns to Dublin city this year for four days and nights of deadly adventures between Friday 28 October and Monday 31 October.
BOREALIS is an immersive light and sound experience, with a custom soundtrack by Guillaume Desbois. It has wowed hundreds of thousands of people across the globe including in London, Adelaide, Geneva, Paris, Abu Dhabi, and Tokyo and has captivated audiences with its recreation of one of our planet’s most beautiful natural phenomenons, in cities where it wouldn’t normally occur.

Its lush visuals and harmonious soundscape utterly transform the sky over spectators’ heads, and time seems to slow down as eyes look up at the mesmerising lights in a breath-taking experience of true awe and wonder. BOREALIS brings the fascination and superstition humans have experienced for millenia on viewing the Northern Lights right into the city centre for Dubliners and visitors of all ages to enjoy.
