There’s little doubting the game-changing impact Hang Tough have made since launching their exhibition space on Exchequer Street, pairing an astute curatorship of emerging artists with a largely new audience willing to appreciate and invest. Now Rubio and co. take on another ambitious project with Páipéar, an exhibition of 115 original works in a temporary exhibition space at Central Plaza on Dame Street. All artists have been invited to produce an original, previously un-exhibited work on paper – at one of three predetermined sizes – with a completely open-ended brief and varied selection of mediums from paintings, drawings and pastel works, to mixed media, collage and spray-painted pieces. Artists include: Blaise Drummond, Clare Henderson, David Hedderman, Joy Gerrard, Ronan Dillon, Neil Dunne and Superfolk.
Central Plaza, 6-8 Dame Street, until August 28.
