We inadvertently condemned O’Neill’s on Pearse Street to a premature departure last month. Our bad.
Far from it, this old Victorian gem, dating back to 1885, has just re-opened under new management and with a new menu under the guidance of Troy MacGuire, formerly of L’Gueuleton, Locks, and Coppinger Row.
“Simply prepared with care and attention and an emphasis on seasonality and heritage,” is the pitch.
It hosts lively open trad sessions every Wednesday and Saturday at 8pm and has a cosy guesthouse upstairs.
Resurrected in every sense.
