Jabuti is the name of the debut solo album by Loafing Hero (aka Barry Ryan). All the tracks were written and recorded in a Zen Buddhist monastery in the middle of the jungle in the interior of Brazil.
“A song was written and recorded each day from scratch with voice and nylon guitar alone in the monastery, away from all internet, etc.
Entering the thick present, with the rain, birds, monkeys, insects, lizards, frogs and river-turtle for company, it is a journey through the heart of Brazil from an Irish person tracing ghosts from his recent and distant past, to a realm where the dead are never really dead,” explains Ryan, who released the album with the help of the Garden Collective, fellow Lisbon-based Irish heads.
