Dublin Theatre Festival
Conceived during lockdown, realised during this limbo phase and ending just shy of the full reopening, there’s little doubt that the whiteboard at DTF called for a few wipe downs and re-imaginings over the last while. That said, the show will go on, with live stream and on demand options. Actual real life options for seeing shows seem extremely limited at the time of writing with most sold out, though do check the box office.
Expected highlights include Philip McMahon’s Once Before I Go (Gate), Mark O’Halloran’s Conversations After Sex (Project Arts) and Gina Moxley’s The Application (New Theatre). Meanwhile, performance maker and artist Tim Etchells is making a new neon work to be installed at the Crown Alley Telephone Exchange which will hopefully shed some bright light on the city as it emerges from darkness into darkness.
