Photographer Zoe Ardiff reveals the story behind this month’s Totally Dublin Fashion Photoshoot.
“Photography to me is about showing my view of the world in an aesthetic form and opening people up to new ideas and ways of self expression. My style is still developing as I continue to learn and grow as a photographer.
I want my work to be a collection of the wonderful people I meet and the new things I’m learning as I grow as a person.
For this shoot I was so lucky to get to work with my friend and talented stylist Oyin. I have always admired her work and I’m so grateful to have her on board for many of the shoots that I’ve photographed on.
We reached out to John Paul from NotAnother Agency because we absolutely adored his look and thought it was perfect for the edgy street vibe we were going for.
For the shoot I wanted to make use of the locations around where I live and show that you don’t need a crazy budget to be able to produce good work. Oyin styled the shoot using the same thought process with all of the clothes being sourced locally from either charity shops or vintage shops.
Prior to the shoot I matched up the outfits to the locations around where I live in Ringsend. This shoot stood out as being one of my favourites so far because we just had fun doing it while also getting the chance to chat with some local people from the neighbourhood who were intrigued by what we were doing.
One of my favourite things about photography is that is brings people together and this is definitely one of the takeaways from this particular shoot! “
