A sunny bright orange facade is set to become the portal to the home of the latest addition to the Brother Hubbard family as Garret Fitzgerald and Co. bring their take on the flavours of the Middle East to Ranelagh in Dublin 6.

For almost a decade now Brother Hubbard has been treating Dubliners to a feast of delicious menus and flavours, inspired by cooks such as London-based Israeli Yotam Ottolenghi and British-Iranian Sabrina Ghaynour. This month sees them celebrate nine years in business, with a culinary zeal as energetic and fresh as when they first started out all those years ago.

“A new chapter for us as we look beyond Covid with hope and optimism!” began the recent announcement on Instagram heralding the advent of their new venture in Ranelagh. The big reveal was accompanied by photographs of the colourful new work in progress, which is located just across the road from The Village Butcher.

The shiny orange exterior clearly reflects the equally sunny disposition of the food entrepreneurs, who were happy to confirm, “We’ve very exciting plans for our newest baby!”

We look forward to seeing these plans realised in the fullness of time, but in the meantime the Mediterranean maestros are currently accepting orders for the Easter weekend, in the form of a delicious selection of meal kits.

The Middle East Feast from Brother Hubbard South is described as ‘the original Easter cuisine’ and features a choice of meat, vegetarian and vegan options. As an added bonus for the weekend that’s in it, each kit also includes a Chocolate OMG dessert.

So plenty to savour as we wait for those shiny new doors to open. Keep an eye on their social for progress on their Ranelagh opening and more.
