IN THE FRAME 190
Loopies Field
“Loopies Field investigates a modern image of agriculture in Ireland through the performance of labour, capturing farmers in their environments.
Technology has somewhat changed the conditions of being a farmer in Ireland today. Having had a previous career in agriculture, I am returning to the industry to explore agri economies’ effect on farm size, social living and attitudes as we face a future of diversification.
By incorporating contemporary practices with traditional photographic techniques, this series explores its themes through studies of architecture, people and a new mechanised industry.”
Becks will be part of the Futures Irish Talents exhibition which runs at The Library Project until October 25. It also features the work of Garry Loughlin, Mark McGuinness, Shia Conlon, and Vera Ryklova who have been selected to represent Ireland on the Futures platform in 2020.
