“By using these atmospheric sites as backdrops for our shoots we aim to capture, forever, places which may not exist in a few years’ time as developers carve their way through our historic city.”

Photographer Liadh Connolly reveals the story behind this month’s Totally Dublin Fashion Photoshoot.

“This is a collaborative project that myself and Zoe Redmond have been working on. Through both photography and styling we have been working on documenting old places that make Dublin city what it is.

By using these atmospheric sites as backdrops for our shoots we aim to capture, forever, places which may not exist in a few years’ time as developers carve their way through our historic city.

Here we used the beloved Bernard Shaw, filled with so much history, a place that has grown and changed over the years, its character built from old and reused materials – just like the clothes we choose for our projects.

Focusing on menswear, we want to promote the idea that a contemporary and interesting outfit can be made up of second hand clothing for a more ethical and sustainable approach to fashion.”
