Clairo’s musical journey is one deeply embedded in the ultra-new musical climate. She rose to prominence after her song Pretty Girl, recorded on a laptop in her bedroom, surged through Instragram and TikTok, and eventually looped back around through being a monster hit on YouTube. But that’s timeless about her work is the quality – debut album Immunity came out this year, and its subtle, mature dream-pop showcases a song-writing talent that’s grown remarkably over the last few years. This gig is a sign of her growing popularity, as she does two dates at The Academy.
