Tired of dragging suitcases and backpacks around a city before checking in or after checking out? After phenomenal debuts in 26 cities worldwide, LuggageHero launches its safe, hassle-free storage network in Ireland, choosing Dublin as the first location in the country, with 20 storage sites and more to come in the next months.

  • Following the best year ever for Irish tourism thanks to more than 11 million visitors, LuggageHero launches in Dublin to meet growing market demand for just €1 per hour, and max €8 per day, as Airbnbs and non-hotel lodgings don’t offer luggage storage

  • Thanks to 1,000 drop-off points within 26 cities worldwide, LuggageHero reached the milestone of more than 1 million hours of luggage storage

  • LuggageHero secured €2 million in funding and was elected as one of PhocusWire’s Hot 25 Startups for 2019

As a vital member of the travel world’s peer-to-peer sharing economy, LuggageHero allows users to conveniently store their luggage as they travel, freeing up time for them to explore the city as opposed to worrying about dragging around their luggage. Users simply visit luggagehero.com, find a conveniently located storage site inside a verified shop or other business, reserve a spot, and check in the luggage. Each piece of luggage and its contents are insured for up to €2,500.

Since LuggageHero launched in 2016, its customers have racked up more than 1 million hours of bag storage. The service is especially popular among users of Airbnb, hostels, bed and breakfasts, and other non-hotel lodgings, which do not offer luggage storage.

Jannik Lawaetz, LuggageHero founder and CEO, who was nominated Entrepreneur of the Year in 2018 and 2019 by Ernst & Young says: “This is probably LuggageHero’s best week so far, after officialising the acquisition of the bag-storage competitor Knock Knock City, today we are launching in Dublin, a key city for the expansion of LuggageHero in Europe.” Since Lawaetz founded LuggageHero, the network has grown to almost 1,000 drop-off points in 26 cities worldwide. “It’s a great feeling to make a concept that really helps travellers,” Lawaetz said. “I am proud to have put together a concept that helps travellers all around the world. From my own needs, an international company was born.”
