We’re on a serious come down after Ireland’s largest gin event – Gin Experience Dublin which took place last April 12th & 13th at the Printworks in Dublin Castle.  With over 50 gin producers from Ireland and across the globe, 130 different gins & 12 informative masterclasses & gin schools, it’s fair to say that it has been the highlight of this year’s gin calendar.

The event was organised by the Celtic Whiskey Shop in Dawson Street —  who are also home to the biggest selection of gin in Ireland — so we decided to enlist their help and ask for a few recommendations!

All of these gins have been categorized based on their flavour profiles and are available at www.celticwhiskeyshop.com!

1. The Classic London Dry Gins

The most popular gin style, which is known for its plentiful juniper and citrus notes. These gins will suit the gin purist and are exactly what you need for a classic G&T!

Blackwater No.5 Gin | Boatyard Double Gin | Dingle Gin

2. Floral & Fragrant Gins

Yes to Flower Power! Rose, Jasmine & Elderflower are just some of the wonderful flowers being used as botanicals for these gins – making them full of colour but more importantly full of flavour.

Glendalough Rose Gin | Bloom Jasmine & Rose Gin | Warners Elderflower Gin

3. Fruit Fusion Gins

From cloudberries to apples, gin producers and distillers are getting fruitful with their five a day! Pair them up with premium tonic, lots of ice and a fruit of your choice!

Sixling Gin |  Brockman’s Gin | Symphonia No.2 Apple Gin

4. Herbaceous & Herbal Gins

Whether it’s using traditional botanicals or different distillates, these gins will suit any serious ginthusiasts! All three gins work well neat, in a perfect serve or in cocktails.

Sling Shot Gin | Feckin Gin | Silver Spear Gin

5. Maritime Gins

From Donegal to the Beara Peninsula, Irish seaweeds & sugar kelp are inspiring the Irish gin offering. Serve these gins with olives to compliment the saltiness & a little citrus!

An Dúlamán | Beara Gin |

6. Gins with Exotic Spices

Warm, earthy and spicy describes these gins perfectly! Oriental and exotic botanicals like Osmanthus flower, Oolong tea & Gunpowder tea have been used to create unusual and unique tipples.

Chinnery Gin | Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin | Opihr Gin
