Slipping between a studio on St. Stephen’s Green and the flora- and fauna-filled surrounds of her native Connemara, Alison Conneely’s sartorial voice is part-mythical, part-modernist.
She effortlessly pushes the pre-conceived boundaries of Irish fashion with each passing year; her most recent multi-disciplinary projects including “The Shuttle Hive: A Century of Rising Threads” and “Tremble Tremble”, which showcased at last year’s Venice Biennale.
Quietly-assured, flawlessly-sewn design flows from Conneely’s polished collections. It’s little wonder, then, that luxury behemoth Bloomingdale’s snapped up her latest capsule collection, “Makers Myth”, to launch this month – a move that will see Conneely’s fervent domestic fanbase joined by a myriad of Manhattan dwellers.
