We all experience injuries through age, illness and our working lives: emotional and physical; through our spirit and skin. This exploration becomes particularly poignant for the professional dancer. At what point do we expose these injuries as part of our being? Give in to them? Embrace them?
This work is a continuation of Between Spirit and Skin (2016). It was originally created in response to Ailish Claffey’s experience as dancer in residence through the National Centre for Arts and Health, and expanded in collaboration with Cathy Coughlan, through digital media with this series of intimate film studies that celebrate instability and uncertainty.
Opening reception – July 5 (6.30pm)
Runs until July 7
