Demand for white sliced bread reached somewhat giddy heights during the recent reign of Storm Emma and her chilly pal the Beast From The East.
Thankfully the gruesome twosome have now departed our shores meaning that those with an eye for some serious dough can focus on this month’s Aldi National Brown Bread Baking competition, run in association with the National Ploughing Association and the Irish Country Women’s Association.
With €10,000 in prize money up for grabs, as well as the chance to see their bread on shelves nationwide, aspiring bakers are advised to get bready and register their interest by emailing brownbread@aldi.ie
