Dublin isn’t replete with classic wine bars but The Red Bank is jostling with Le Cave for the crown of our favourite (when it comes to atmosphere at least).
Downstairs from the Duke Street Gallery, it boasts a raggle-taggle mix of boho types.
On a recent night, we ended up chatting in the cosy smoking section to an artist telling us about a move to Carcassonne and curator Tony Strickland joined us to talk about the quintet of events he’s organising in honour of his forthcoming 60th which culminates in a portrait exhibition of himself.
It’s that sort of joint!
Elsewhere, some music roadies spoke of hanging out with ‘the band’ and a late night trio of Barbour wearing types put in a bid for art on the wall. They can order in from the Dublin Pizza Company for you too.
Soaks and soakage.
