Kamasi Washington is cutting jazz some extra slack.
Heralded as the greatest saxophonist since Pharaoh Sanders, Washington is also the cross-over merchant to hook new audiences. A former drummer, he’s toured with Lauryn Hill, Herbie Hancock and Snoop Dogg and pimped his services on Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly.
He comes to Dublin as part of the Perspectives series playing from his latest release The Epic. Laurie Anderson, Magnetic Fields and Kristen Hersh are in the Hall in May. Get your tickets in double time.
Kamasi Washington – National Concert Hall. Thursday June 29th, 8pm.
