The genius of the Night Slugs cohort has been to create an aesthetic based on abstraction and hybridity. Five years after its foundation, its roster of sound sculptors are creating an increasingly heterogeneous vision of what club music can be. Torontonian composer Egyptrixx’s progression has been marked by an increasing physicality and austerity. All deep techno bounce and counterweighted metallic clatters, this new release expresses function through its titanic form like a monolithic Brutalist tower-block.
