Diskotekken Roller Disco

The good people at Discotekken and Hunt & Gather consistently deliver some of the most fun and innovative clubbing experiences Dublin has to offer. Following the success of their previous forays into the heavily sequinned world of roller disco, they are ready to get up with the get down once again. With 70’s Disco and 80’s Boogie jams rolling on into the wee small hours and Uber providing free taxis to the rink for the first 200 people to buy tickets there’s no excuse not to gracefully glide out to the Long Mile road and get your Roller Girl on.
Con Artist presents: An Evening of Cricket

Dublin’s favourite ball boys, Con Artist, are switching it up for their latest Sugar Club takeover as they shift focus from the beautiful game in favor of “an evening focusing on the stories, legends and insights in the world of cricket”. The cricket world has always been steeped in a rich culture of storytelling and eccentric characters perfectly poised for the evening’s expertly assembled collection of panelists to examine. The host for the evening will be life-long cricket fan and RTE Sport personality John Kenny, who will be joined by Ger Siggins, Tim Wigmore and Alan “Lewie” Lewis. Following the discussion portion of the evening, guests will also be treated to a screening of Irish Cricketing documentary Batmen: The Story of Irish Cricket . But wait, there’s more, every attendee will also leave with a copy of the inaugural edition of new Blizzard-esque high minded cricket quarterly The Nightwatchmen featuring essays and long-form writing from some of cricket’s most eminent chin strokers.

This time going through the keyhole and curating an evening concerned with a topic close to their hearts, self-starters that they are, entrepreneurship from the home. With talks from Shawna Scott of SexSiopa.ie, Anne Bedos of socially focused bike shop Rothar, Paolo Dona of Homestay.ie and Gruel Guerilla and News of the Curd’s mastermind Kevin Powell on the agenda followed by a panel discussion from Eibhlin Curley , the Assistant Chief Executive at the Local Enterprise Office ,Michael McCarney from Entrepreneur of the Year awards and Paolo Dona looking at the changing face of modern entrepreneurshipand positives and pitfalls of using the home as an income generator. Seven Quarters: Twinkranes/Halves

Seven Quarters, one of the most exciting recent development’s in the Dublin club/gig scene, are returning for their third installment. Brain child of Barry Lennon (Richter Collective,Community Of Independents and Hands Up Who Wants To Die), each Seven Quarters event strives to give punters a truly unique experience, not least of all because the first 150 folks in the door are provided with a limited edition 7 inch of previously unreleased material from the acts performing on the night. Taking to the stage this time will be moody post-rock savants Halves and critically praised krauty experimentalists Twinkranes. Hollywood Babylon: Breakfast Club/Real Genius

Yo, wastoids, did you forget about them? Well, don’t. Dublin’s premier midnight Monday movie club, Hollywood Babylon, are back with an evening celebrating one of Cinema’s most cherished teen flicks, The Breakfast Club, and in a typically savvy piece of counter programming, a 1980s gem that many may have missed, Real Genius (staring a fresh faced Val Kilmer). The evening will kick off with drinks and games at the lovely Lighthouse bar before the Real Genius starts rolling at 10pm followed by the main event, The Breakfast Club, at about midnight. Don’t forget to get your most garish blouses, scrunchies and snap bracelets out of mothballs as there’ll be prizes for the best costumes on the night.
