The Headless Woman

Posted February 17, 2010 in Cinema Reviews

Argentinian film The Headless Woman is a challenging narrative for an audience. Driving home from work one day Vero (Onetto) runs over something in her car. However, rather than stop to investiage what she has hit, she drives home. After visiting the hospital to attend to a small cut on her forehead, Vero begins to wonder about the collision and just what it was that she hit.

The film goes on to show Vero’s emotional and psychological response to the accident as, wracked with guilt, she tries desperately to reestablish the routine and patterns of her day to day life.
