Treeless Mountain

Posted January 8, 2010 in Cinema Reviews

When a mother goes searching for her estranged husband, she leaves her two young daughters, 6 and 3, in the care of their alcoholic aunt. Making the journey from Seoul to the country, the dismayed children wait for their mother’s return while bonding with peasant grandmother Park Boon Tak.
Winner of awards in Berlin, Dubai and Pusan, the gently heartbreaking narrative mixed with the wonderful performances from the two young leads, create an enchanting, beautiful film.
