Mika Vainio was one half of legendary Finnish pioneers Pansonic. Now that we’ve got your attention, he’s also a pretty brilliant artist when he’s all by himself. Consistently one of the most forward-thinking people in the electronic music sphere, he’s released cracking records on the likes of Editions Mego, Mute, Sahko and Touch and worked with people like Alan Vega and Keiji Haino. His output runs the gamut from blistering techno to minimalist drone and ambient works, so it’s hard to know what to expect live. Whatever he plays, you can be sure it’ll be heavy.
Support on the night comes from the rarely-seen-in-the-wild Whirling Hall Of Knives, a collaboration between two of Dublin’s finest and most mysterious electronic acts, Magnetize and The Last Sound.
