The Dublin Festival of History is an annual free festival, organised Dublin City Council, Dublin City Libraries and Dublin City Council Culture Company. Now in its twelfth year, the festival enjoys a reputation for offering a fresh perspective on history and its importance in our day to day lives, attracting best-selling Irish and international historians to Dublin for a high-profile programme of history talks and debate each Autumn.
This year’s programme includes new perspectives on the Irish Civil War, while authors and journalists Christine Bohan, Sean Murray and Nicky Ryan will take part in a conversation on their book, The Last Disco, which is regarded as the definitive story of the Stardust Tragedy.
The Dublin Festival of History runs from 27 September to 13 October 2024, with the Big Weekend from Friday 27 September to Sunday 29 September at the Printworks Dublin Castle, Dame St, Dublin 2. For those who can’t attend in person, many of the events will be live-streamed at the following link: https://dublinfestivalofhistory.ie/live
