ALDI just dropped their Autumn/Winter 2024 wine line-up, and that means my favourite sparkling wine is back. The Crémant du Jura is well known in the wine wanker world as a dupe of Laurent Perrier, a €70 champagne, because it has that same pear drop finish. This year it’s landed at €16.99 but there’s also a Crémant de Loir that I thought sang beautifully at the portfolio tasting for €12.99.
By the numbers, they’ve got 19 reds and 16 whites coming to brighten the increasingly cold nights. If you’re into wine (or just like drinking it), this is just what your wallet ordered – banging wines at solidly low prices.
On the white front, there’s this hidden gem from Portugal, the Beira Interior DOC White (€8.99). Super fresh, kind of fruity, and seriously underrated. Then there’s the Alsace Riesling (€9.99) if you want something crisp and clean.
Rosé in winter? Hell yes. Grab the Mimo Moutinho Alentejo Rosé (€8.99)—trust me, it works year-round.
Bottom line: ALDI’s wine game is on point this Autumn/Winter.
