This Sunday August 18th sees Unique Markets Dublin working with Atelier Now, and Maser Art in an exciting new pop up collaboration, which brings a brand new community market to the D2 area.

Speaking to Totally Dublin ahead of the event, founder Emma Brereton said, “Charlemont Square is a great event space nestled between Portobello and Ranelagh in this recently developed area, and is the perfect location for a community market. This is an indoor and outdoor market, which will showcase local traders, and we promise a vibrant and eclectic mix of stalls.”

The site can accommodate 60 traders, ranging from Local Design, Arts, Crafts, Vintage Sellers & Collectors, Home Decor, Vinyl Records and Bric a Brac.

“We will also host a small food area with homegrown artisan foods & baked goods. We will have live Dj’s and Maser Art will be doing live art installations on the day, which is not to be missed.”

Now in its 15th year, Unique Markets Dublin, has an impressive range of markets under their belt. Their considerable experience includes running large markets at Body & Soul and Electric Picnic, Christmas at the Castle, in Swords for Fingal Co Council, The Dandelion Market in The Well and Smithfield Market in The Generator Hostel.

Entrepreneurial whizz Emma Brereton also runs We Love Markets, a monthly outdoor flea market in the Digital Hub. She tells us that she is always on the hunt for spaces to host new markets around Dublin.

“I know Maser from way back, when he approached me about collaborating Block Market in this great community space in D2, I was thrilled… Ideally I would love a permanent space in Dublin, somewhere I could be the landlady of the best market in town, it’s out there, I feel it coming soon…. ”

Dublin artist Maser too has been involved in hosting many art exhibitions and art activations in the area over the years. He says, “I enjoy seeing communities come together, and this market is an extension of that. I was at one of Emma’s markets and thought Charlemont Square could be a great location and it’s very accessible for a market. I reached out to Emma to see if she would be interested in hosting her market in the area”.

And the rest it seems is history!

Unique Markets Dublin will host the first market from 11am-5pm on Sunday August 18th. This is a free event, so why not pop by, browse your way through the unique stalls and soak up the atmosphere of their first event in Charlemount Square.
