Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) is a holiday celebrated in central and southern Mexico on the 1st and 2nd November each year, a time when the indigenous peoples believe that the gates of heaven are opened and deceased spirits arrive to reunite with their families.
This holiday also coincides with Ireland’s pagan celebrations of Samhain and Hallowe’en (All Hallows Eve) and in honor of the occasion the Mariachi San Patricio celebrate Day of The Dead at Bello Bar this Saturday night.
Ireland’s only full 10 piece Mariachi band will lead the Day of the Dead celebrations and play Mariachi classics such as La Negra, Cielito Lindo and the Mexican Hat Dance.
The event is fancy dress and takes place on Saturday 31st October at Bello Bar, Portobello.
Doors 8pm, show starts at 8.30pm.
