As Street Feast gets set to celebrate fourteen years of community celebrations at the end of the month, the 2024 edition has been expanded to run over two days. The extended festival is expected to help entice over 1,250 communities across the country to get together to share food and enjoy some great conversation and craic.

Encouraging communities to register for the event, the founder of Street Feast and Neighbourhood Network CEO, Sam Bishop says that everyone is invited to participate, host gatherings and add to the magic of building a sense of community. “It doesn’t matter if you live in an apartment or house, all you need is a space to bring people together.”

Bishop adds that, in the past, “Street Feast has had parties organised in front gardens, on streets and greens, in car parks, laneways, local parks and community centres.”

In addition to providing a fantastic opportunity to bring local communities together to celebrate, the organisation’s experience over the years indicates that those who get involved consistently report feeling an enhanced sense of community. Bishop tells us that, “97% feel their neighbourhood is friendlier since hosting Street Feast, and 98% say their sense of belonging has increased since Street Feast.”

Street Feast takes place on May 25th and May 26th. Once registered, organisers receive a free Street Feast party pack, complete with bunting, posters, invites and a cool DIY guide.
