It was the old shop frontage with the fresh twist which first caught our eye on the gram (@petes.provisions). Then we happened upon their retro gorge website. We had to ask who’s behind it and it turns out it’s Revert Design.
No great surprises when we recollect that its head honcho Trevor Finnegan who is behind Our Type, a long-running account documenting old shop fronts.
Puzzle solved, we reached out to Pete’s proprietors Conor Higgins and Darren Thompson to applaud their taste and work to date and ask them what we should be uncorking.
“We really like the new wave red wines coming out of Rioja Spain, one in particular is made by Álvaro Palacios called Propiedad. 100% Grenache, full bodied yet fresh & crunchy with hints of spice and oak.
The white we love is Pajzos, a Furmint from Tokaji, Hungary. It’s super fresh, crisp and dry with hints of citrus.”
