On the Northside, just beyond Dorset Street at the top of O’Connell Street lies one of Dublin’s newest and most intimate venues. Stripped back to its original Georgian features, atmospheric and full of artwork,
La Pausa is a cafe by day and music venue by night.
This Thursday 29th marks
Imogen Gunner’s third appearance at La Pausa Caffé and kicks off a monthly residency. A local of Dorset Street herself, Gunner is also a composer, fiddle player, singer and multi-instrumentalist (harp, concertina, ukulele). She also lectures in traditional music at RIAM and performs nationally, including recently at the Abbey Theatre, and internationally.
Imogen’s compositions have featured in BBC radio documentaries and her live concerts regularly pack out this popular spot. Her music spans sources from English, Irish and French traditional music, old time and 1920’s jazz, with her own compositions and songs featuring strongly in every set.
She is joined by Fermanagh native and student in composition at RIAM, Rose Connolly, who sings, plays piano, guitar, banjo and ukulele. Between them, Imogen Gunner and Rose Connolly perform a unique and beguiling set of new and old, with beautifully blended harmony vocals and instrumental adventures on every combination of aforementioned instruments imaginable.
They are also joined on Thursday by illustrious cellist, composer and vocalist of Spike and Kaleidoscope renown, Lioba Petrie.
Free entry, seating limited, food, wine and craft beer menu available.
