SPECTRUM is a 4 night festival taking place this weekend in various Dublin city centre venues
The festival wraps on Sunday night with what is going to be a brilliant live and improvised set from the Dublin-based multi-instrumentalist and turntablist DJackulate (aka Jack McMahon) – the recent winner of the ‘Clash of the Titans’ world freestyle championship! More HERE
McMahon has a wide range of influences stemming from a lifetime of mining records for odd samples as a champion turntablist, in addition to playing the saxophone, uilleann pipes, kaval, musical saw, and other instruments in a wide range of musical contexts, making for an intriguing live sampling set on the decks.
On Sunday night at SPECTRUM he will collaborate with electronic composer and jazz drummer H-ci (aka Shane O’Donovan) to present a unique improvised set from two sonic explorers of the highest calibre.
Support on the night comes from Australian-born Margie Jean Lewis, an inventive electronic artist known for her intricately crafted soundscapes, lush songs of emotional depth and pumping electronic beats. She fuses her rich bewildering vocals with violin, zither and electronics to create a world of sound to get lost in.
