Jay Glass Dubs is Dimitris Papadatos’s outlet for stripped-back, broken-down dub mutations. A “counter-factual historical approach of dub music”, his sound is at once brutal and lumbering and ethereally light. Since his first release under the Jay Glass Dubs alias by way of Parisian outfit Hylé Tapes he’s gone from strength to strength, with several brilliant releases on Bokeh Versions, Seagrave and Anòmia – including remixes for avant-garde rock band Guerilla Toss. His recent compilation of unreleased dubs on Ecstatic was a late contender for our favourite record of 2017.
Bokeh Versions kingpin Bokeh Edwards will be DJing on the night, giving us a rare chance to hear the outernational sorcery that’s moulded Bokeh Versions into one of the most exciting experimental labels operating at the minute.
