Merrion Square will once more serve as a stage for a special, free family event: an exclusive event centred around the famous Riverdance show. As a part of The Gathering 2013, musicians and dancers will be taking over the park and its surroundings with a number of activities – from face-painting and bouncy castles to informal instructions for aspiring Riverdancers. The show’s past and present musicians will also perform live to an on-screen backdrop of Riverdance’s highlights. On top of that, the festival will be the setting for an attempt to break the world record for the longest line of Riverdancers: well over 2000 people will participate along the banks of the Liffey. Spectators are welcome to assist and take part in this unforgettable celebration of one of Ireland’s best known exports – Riverdance.
