BAR GUIDE: Bar Guide: Ashton’s

Ashton’s in Clonskeagh was and remains a leader in the Gastro Pub scene. Long before food was an important element of a public house, Ashton’s were committed to serving the best of Irish food.

Positioned with lovely views over the river Dodder, you may even see a kingfisher or heron, taking advantage of the tree lined banks to catch their dinner. Your own dinner or lunch will be even easier to catch as their friendly, well trained staff are attentive to your every need. Menus change regularly but the emphasis is on contemporary Irish cuisine, made with the freshest local produce and this policy has preserved a loyal following.

One of the unique experiences at Ashton’s is the Black Rock steak on the stone; a selection of the freshest fillets and sirloins are brought to your table along with your very own volcanic ‘Hot Rock’. You then cook the ingredients to precisely your taste without any oils or fats, making the the food incredibly tasty and extremely healthy. Along with some innovative new dishes and a large selection of Irish craft beer on draught and bottle, you wont go wrong for value and choice, especially with the early bird menu from 4pm -9pm Mon – Thurs.

Close to the city yet firmly in the suburbs, Ashton’s is a popular haunt for sports enthusiasts, particularly rugby. Enjoy the good weather and atmosphere while having a drink, sitting outside their pavement area, or in the garden where regular BBQs feature regularly. The friendly and relaxed ambiance make it the ideal venue for a casual business lunch, dinner or corporate event.
