Yeasayer - The Academy - 19 February 2010
Live Preview 19 February 2010
Yeasayer first came to public attention at the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas in 2007. Born and bred Brooklynites, the band upholds the rich musical tradition of the borough they call home. The quartet turned three-piece band all provide vocals, and utilise a vast array of instruments in the cacophony that is their experimental pop. Bloggers slobbered over the release of their first album All Hour Cymbals in 2007, and the imminent release of their sophomore effort Odd Blood is hotly anticipated. Their European tour begins hot on the heels of a much-heralded performance at New York's Guggenheim museum. The tour will be a chance for fans to hear their new material, and if their wonderfully infectious single ‘Ambling Alp' is an indicator they could be on to a winner.
