To Trend: Brazilian Food

Those who know about these things tell us that Brazil will be very much in vogue this year, and it’s not all about the Olympics either. From a food trend perspective it seems that the world has developed a new found love of home made Brazilian stews and lip-smacking marinades tailor-made for summer barbeques. Here, Dublin trendsetters Bodytonic are well ahead of the game, with the menus at MVP Clanbrassil Street and Wigwam, their newly opened Middle Abbey Street venture, already benefiting from the culinary influence of Brazilian chef Pedro Feraz. Try the steak with traditional farofa. www.wigwamdublin.com

To Diet-Bust: Aungier Danger

For years the humble little donut kiosk in O’Connell Street was the go-to destination for those seeking a bit of stickiness north of the Liffey. It still plies a steady trade as The Rolling Donut, but in recent months the buzz has been all about the arrival of a stylish new emporium on the Southside. The fancy neon light gives it to us straight: Aungier Danger. The reaction from the city’s donut loving community has been both swift and pithy. ‘Amazing’. ‘Unreal’. ‘Ah Jaysus!’ ‘I ate everything’. Praise indeed. But will it bust your diet? Open Mon-Fri 7.30am til everything’s sold out. 37 Aungier Street Dublin 2
