Cartels are popping up all over town, labels with club nights, club nights with labels, labels with sub-labels with club nights. If you’re having trouble keeping up, the Bernard Shaw’s Thursday night distraction Forward/Slash is a good square one to roll the dice from. Featuring artists from the recent Lightbox tour, the Loud Mouth collective, as well as independent heavy-hitters like Hunter-Gatherer and Orquesta, the first Forward/Slash compilation remains bright and breezy throughout, and strays away from the more amateurish elements of some other compilations pinging about like table tennis balls right now.
