Holding a warm spot in many an artist’s heart, Body&Soul are back this summer with their annual festival over the weekend of June 17th-19th, aligning with the Summer Solstice. You’d have to have your head in the ground to not have heard of it at this stage.

This year brings an exciting new addition to the festival, something called INCUBATE&INNOVATE. This is a funding and bursary program worth over €30,000 that aims to facilitate artists creating work for this year’s festival. Successful applicants will create and build their work on-site at the festival under the direction of Head of Decor Mary Pike, who joined Body&Soul after nine years working as a set-designer and prop-maker with Weta Workshop in New Zealand on Hollywood movies including The Hobbit, Spiderman, Avatar and Through the Looking Glass.

Alongside this, five bursaries are available to experienced artists, stage designers, lighting and decor specialists designed to fulfil the artistic and decor requirements for the festival in 2016 (and all future events).

Applications for all bursaries and artist projects should be submitted by January 29th via bodyandsoul.ie/backstage-at-bodyandsoul or click ‘Get Involved’ on bodyandsoul.ie
