Artsdesk: Someone You Love

On Tuesday 11th October, the Copper House Gallery on Synge Street in Dublin 8 will play host to Someone You Love, an exhibition curated and organised by Aifric Ní Chríodáin. Someone You Love is an exhibition of pro-choice artwork in the form of prints which are for sale at the event. The money raised from the sale of the prints will go to the Abortion Support Network, which is a UK-based charity which helps women in Ireland and Northern Ireland who are forced to travel to access abortion by providing information, accommodation and clinic escorts where needed. Up to 12 Irish women a day travel to access abortions.

Twenty artists, including Fuchsia MacAree, Sian Conway, Fatti Burke and Sarah Moloney, have contributed work to the exhibition, and numbered, limited edition prints of their work will be for sale for one-night only. Also on the night, Vicki Curtis, DJ at Spinster night will be playing some music, and there will be some short speeches from Kathryn Keating from the Abortion Support Network, journalist Louise Bruton and more to be announced.
